This page is exclusively dedicated to providing information about hacking and advanced computer topics. Some of this stuff is stuffi wanted to know but found it hard to find. Most of this stuff is going to be questions you can ask me and I will answer as best as I can.

My Friend The Basic
Stamp
ladies and gentlemen i would like to introduce you to my new toy... the Basic Stamp2 IC. This is one nifty little piece of hardware. It can become any box you want.. even an infiniy transmitter if you want. this little chip has its own voltage regulator. if you give it anything from 5v to 15v to run off of. it is capable of serial communications (synchronous and asynchronous), paralell communications. capable of generating any set (yes i do mean set) of audible tones. it even has a command for standard DTMF tones including ABC and D. this little beauty can also generate analog voltages via PWM (pulse width modulation). and best of all it is programmable!!!...really..through your serial port. the language is a dialect of basic called PBASIC or Parallax basic. below is schematics for somthing i like to call "Phreaks Best Friend".
enjoy
Phalanx
First you need a speaker!
Next up a rudamentaty keyboard....7 buttons are enough(because i only have a 7bit encoder) you can make a more complicated keyboard it you want. i.e. for making a tuchtone keypad. but this is just for the occational quarter tone and any other tone you want/
last but not least a LCD screen but you just buy that... it must be a 2x16 or higher...with a serial backpack (any lcd with a 2x16 screen will do as long as can be loaded serialy) i didnt bother to write the program becaus of the many possibe variations of parts you ma have but suggust making it question driven. below is somthing of the way it should go
recall tone or create new tone
frequency of tone A
frequency of tone B
pulsed output or on
tone pulse width
silence pulse width
bla bla bla you get the idea... have fun Phalanx
